Notability vs. pupil defect?

edit

Is RAPD-Marcus Gunn pupil more notable than the PCR technique? If so, perhaps that should be the land page for the abbreviation? Or perhaps this should just go to disambig?--Xris0 (talk) 15:03, 11 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

RAPDRandom amplification of polymorphic DNA – For WP:NATURAL disambiguation from Relative afferent pupillary defect (also known as Marcus Gunn pupil), which gets about twice as many page views and is currently the subject of another RM submitted by me. Also note that sometimes Wikipedia seems to prefer to use spelled-out terms rather than abbreviations even when there is no disambiguation issue, such as for Severe acute respiratory syndrome–related coronavirus and Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. Also please note the similar comment on this Talk page from 2012. — BarrelProof (talk) 20:23, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
