Radnor Range

edit

I've removed this from the archaeology section and fleshed it out a little. Just to note in passing that the present extent of the public exclusion zone (2017 enlargement) is not shown on even the latest OS mapping (Dec 2022) but is indicated on the new range boundary signs. Further land from which the public are officially excluded 'due to unexploded ordnance' is not indicated on the ground!! Geopersona (talk) 10:46, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Name in Welsh

edit

I note that there are two other names in use besides that provided - Ordnance Survey render it as 'Fforest Glud' whilst Natural Resources Wales refer to it as 'Fforest Maesyfed'. I don't know the pedigree of the various alternatives but given that they will be encountered they might be named and, per any references, commented upon. The latter may simply be a reference to the afforested area in NRW's ownership rather than the massif which derives the name 'forest'/'fforest' from its role as a hunting ground rather than being wooded per se.
