Martial arts stub edit

Maybe this isn't a martial arts stub, as a rabbit punch is not much more than what's already described. Basilwhite 02:36, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Etymology edit

More, why is it called a 'rabbit punch'? Surely it has to be some old colloquialism that one needs context to make any sense of. I vaguely remember the term being associated with Ryo of the Yoroiden Samurai Troopers some time ago. It baffled me then, and now watching the Rocky movies, it's still confusing. I might know what it is, but perhaps a bit of etymology could flesh the article out substantially. While the article at least defines it, a bit more depth could be good. Even if it's unsourced and full of crap, it would at least be a start. Mostly because crap gets attention. Brentmisato (talk) 13:14, 26 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Disputed? edit

Question: What exactly is disputed about this article? It is basically a definition of terminology. Not seeing anything here that disputes what it is from a simple google search (aside from being a kidney blow, it's more along the lines of striking the brain/spinal cord in an area that would disrupt kidney function). Given that, the kidney part needs a citation, as to the definition, Webster is a good enough a source. Or did someone tag the article that is brimming with fecal matter in this fashion? A rabbit punch is not, and never has been a punch to the kidneys. That is ridiculous and should be removed. As for etymology - what more is there to say? It is named after the blow used to kill caught rabbits. I think this article is about as fleshed out as it's going to get. It's not a big topic (although the description of the origin of the name should move out of the 'boxing' section). Citizen D (talk) 22:58, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
