Latest comment: 8 years ago by Qwer098123 in topic About me

Hello all this is my first Wiki so I hope I don't make too many mistakes :)

About me

edit

(11.18.2005)
My name is Anthony Headley and I live in Mississauga Ontario but am currently working in Monfalcone Italy for the next 2 years. I work as a touring technician, lighting technician, crew chief and site supervisor for companies like PRG in Toronto and TGA in LA I spend a lot of time away from home so dabbling in things like this keep me busy.

How can i remote a device using mobile phone? Qwer098123 (talk) 12:17, 1 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Why I started this article

edit
  • I love the idea of wiki's (sp) and I think they could be used more in our industry
  • Since the RDM protocol is not finalized this would be a perfect wiki since creators of the protocol and manufactures who support the protocol could add information as they see fit.
  • RDM is mentioned in the DMX512 article and I thought that this could link from it to give people more information on RDM.
  • I'm in Italy and I'm a little board with work
  • No one had created the article so this was a great opportunity

Information I have used

Information Needed

edit

Confusing Wybron PDF

edit

in the PDF from Wybron it states

All of this RDM communication takes place during the time between standard DMX512 "Null START code" frames of level data and is ignored...

Should that of say and? this would mean that the RDM data would be transmitted between the Stop Bits and Start bit of level or start frames.

Graphic

edit

I would like to upload a graphic illustrating exactly where the RDM data is transmitted however I would like to make sure the above statement is correct.

Technical Information

edit

I would like to add more technical information (Start Codes, data framing, "discovery" protocol...

edit

The link to the Wybron PDF is broken.

NOEDITSECTION - Can we turn it off and enable section editing again?

edit

Any reason the NOEDITSECTION is enabled. I'm assuming given it's placement it was designed to stop people editing the disclaimer, however it applies page wide, is bypassable by using the edit button/mangling the URL so I don't really see what purpose it serves. If no one objects I wouldn't mind it being edited out/turned off. --Peternewman (talk) 00:56, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
