I am new to wikipedia and may not be fully up to speed on the guidelines. That being said, I believe that this topic is notable as it will be a biography noting the contributions of R.E. Cooper, Sr. to the the achievement of Bahamian Black Majority Rule (1967) and Bahamian Independence (1973). Cooper is considered to be one of the founding fathers of the modern Bahamas and, as a religious leader, he participated in a political movement that had parallels with both (1) the Civil Rights Movement in the United States and (2) various nationalist and independence movements in a number of British colonies in the West Indies and Africa. Wikipedia already has an article on Cooper's contemporary Sir Lynden Pindling. My goal is simply to add more biographies, beginning with this one, on the founding fathers of the Bahamas.Haitianministries 01:49, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I will need to do more research before writing a proper article. In the meantime, I have designated this article as a stub and will plan to format it as such until I've acquired additional information for an article.Haitianministries 20:10, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
