This could probably warrant an article; it's also the name of the immediate neighbourhood and a street....the Quilchena Hotel ref'd on teh Quilchena, British Columbia stub I just made could probably use its own article, as it's quite historic, but given that there's really nothign else at Quilchena maybe the one article will suffice there....Skookum1 (talk) 16:56, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

I just checked BCGNIS, it's not in there; I think it was an archaic spelling, maybe seen in 19th Century travelogues/histories....Skookum1 (talk) 16:58, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Indigenous etymology

BCGNIS gave no name origin; this is either, most probably, Shuswap/Secwepemctsin or the Nicola dialect of the Thompson/Nlaka'pamux language; it maybe be from the extinct Nicola language.....Skookum1 (talk) 17:00, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
