This article needs work

edit

I just ran across this article because I want to link to it from another article, Euler's continued fraction formula. I don't think this article is as good as it should be. So I intend to rewrite it – almost entirely – within the next few days. DavidCBryant 14:10, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

One thing this article doesn't say yet is whether the placement of the branch cuts and the selection of the principal branch is always ad hoc, or whether there are conventions which apply to arbitrary functions. Cesiumfrog (talk) 03:19, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

In MathWorld definition principle branch is : " a branch (also called a sheet) is a portion of the range of a multivalued function over which the function is single-valued. " In wiki article principle branch is a function which selects one branch. Huge difference, isn't it ? --Adam majewski (talk) 15:40, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
