It happened that she is a legitimate non-Roman Catholic descendant of Sophia of Hanover. Therefore, per Act of Settlement 1701, Princess Elisabeth of Denmark is in the line of succession to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
