Fair use rationale for Image:LPU logo.png edit

Image:LPU logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:21, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Premier Volleyball League Men's Division Article edit

Attention contributors: Mmhuang, iamdumdum, Jeorgetrinidad, Carabao, TjBison, Eric abiog, et al.

  • Any suggestions naming the article of the men's division? My suggestion is "PVL 14th Season Reinforced Open Conference Men's Division" Rickt11 (talk) 11:34, 5 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • May I suggest to just place both the men's and women's division under the existing 14th Season Reinforced Open Conference article instead, just like what is being done with the PSL conference articles. iamdumdum 9:05, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
  • I agree with iamdumdum in order to minimize the pages being edited and maintained. Rickt11 (talk) 09:42, 6 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • I already prepared the format in the said article. Please complete the details for the men's division. Thanks. iamdumdum 9:45, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

Merge proposal edit

The list of previous results at SVL Open Conference could be merged into this page, given that the former SVL page has already merged here. Klbrain (talk) 09:45, 9 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

RfC about the appropriate Ranking Table Template to use in Premier Volleyball League, Spikers' Turf and V-League (Philippines) competitions edit

What's better template to use, Template:Vb cl9 team or Module:Sports table/Volleyball? 98Tigerius (talk) 15:06, 1 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

You don't need a full-blown thirty-day formal RfC for this. See also WP:RFCBEFORE. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:18, 1 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Harping on RedRose's comment, but for this specific league and its associated leagues, there is a difference with standings published by them and WP:RS, and what the league actually uses internally. This is apparent with the triple-tie for 1st in the last conference, which apparently used the FIVB tiebreaking system vs. almost all of the published standings elsewhere, which do not show this (ranking the teams by winning percentage or at least wins). They and WP:RS eventually published the standings using the FIVB system that was internally used, so presumably for purposes of this table, we'd use the Module:Sports table/Volleyball. Season count? edit

Apparently the 2024 season is the eight season now PVL unveils thrilling eighth (sic?) season. However Wikipedia counts the current season (2024) as the seventh season contradicting the PVL

The Premier Volleyball League embarks on its eighth season this February 20 with a robust 12-team lineup

– the issue is Wikipedia's count list this season as the seventh. Do they count the cancelled 2020 season?

It would make sense if we count the cancelled season in 2020 due to COVID as the fourth season. The problem is I can't retrieve a source that refers the previous 2023 Premier Volleyball League season as the seventh season, on the contrary I see Ticketmax.ph site which labels it ad the sixth season. I can't also find articles explicitly stating the season count for seasons 2021 and 2022. That leaves us with a "missing" seventh season if 2023 is sixth and 2024 is the eight. Wikipedia relies on reliable sources and the last season was indeed the sixth season of the league and per Philstar excluding the cancelled and no tournament 2020 season. 98𝚃𝙸𝙶𝙴𝚁𝙸𝚄𝚂 14:04, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it's indeed odd. Why those the current season (2024) referred to as the eight season? How do you we deal with the count? Should we omit them altogether or at least note the discrepancy? Hariboneagle927 (talk) 09:24, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
