Talk:Pocket Legends

Please observe Wikipedia:Reliable sources. You need 3rd party references, not just the developing studio's website. Otherwise, I question this game's notability. Revan fett (talk) 04:16, 13 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I recommend this page add further references. I also suggest discussion open on a more logical organization to the page? Eg recommendations submitted for discussion: 1) Description needs to be edited down to an essential definition of "Pocket Legends" 2) Development History would be appropriate to add in as a new Section 3) Class Descriptions should be shortened imo and/or predominantly removed as this detail can be found at the game website. 4) This could be replaced with New Section's summarizing the game's Design and Gameplay. "Game Types" Section should be promoted into a logical sequence following "Development History" imo also? I also question the organization and relevance of the 3 sections: Items, Awards (could be construed as advertisement?) and Misc.? Please discuss suggested edits and reorganization? I can then suggest relevant citation and references be added to support the page's "Notability". Ratava42 (talk) 13:02, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Reorganized Sections: PL-Description, Development History, Technical Specifications, Game Design: PvE: subdivided 2 main categories: Dungeon/Level Clearing & Quests; PvP: Arena PvP & Capture-The-Flag PvP. Edited non-sequiters in these sections, Added references also. More references will be sourced. Campaigns section is complete and concise so no changes needed. Gameplay Section added and description will be required. In this section a lot of the comments found in the classes description could/can be added as gameplay mechanics discussion and description. Classes can be tabulated for succinct format into 3 archetypes "Pure" builds as well as including their "Hybrid" build names here also.Strongly recommend these changes to address issues: Adertisement, Notability, References and Quality according to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Video_games/Assessment#Quality_scale Please discuss. Added sub-section post-development description which summarizes substantial development work. Reduced Classes description to tabulated attributes choices for summary and removed excess commentary in this section. Intend to add this section into gameplay around it concerning gameplay mechanics and depth to the RPG-statistics side of the core gameplay next. Ratava42 (talk) 14:35, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Recent reorganization to the traditional video game organization of topics is positive. I've just corrected my initial citation of comparison from Guild Wars to Diablo 2. PL is more classic dungeon crawl than co-op rpg. Star Legends is expected to take the corpg model further towards Guild Wars ie extending the instanced design of dungeon run towards "story-run". I'll add more content to Reception including notably industry reactions. Ratava42 (talk) 14:06, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Completed reception summary citing main references for: Critical, commercial reception and relevance and note to the games industry including presentation by STS's Cinco Barnes at GDC in 2010 & 2011. Removed Misc. Section as superfluous commentary to an overview of Pocket Legends. Mostly complete. Tidying up references still required. Ratava42 (talk) 15:03, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Added sub-categories to Classes: Core gameplay consisting of attributes statistical manipulation of "build" description and Class Combos consisting of combining bonus damage between chains of skill use within and between classes. This is the core depth of gameplay mechanics in addition to eg level design. Ratava42 (talk) 09:02, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Reorganized Reception and added summary figures for downloads/distribution. Ratava42 (talk) 11:34, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Removed advertisement/notability tags. Article is neutral, informative and referenced and page can be considered notable on several levels. Ratava42 (talk) 15:45, 7 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Some new details this article should have..

edit

Both Pocket Legends and it's sister game Star Legends have been ported to NaCL and are available through the Chrome Web Store. This brings play to dozens of platforms including Mac, Windows Linux and any other platform that can run Google Chrome or a Chromium based browser. ShadowEO (talk) 18:40, 20 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

combos

edit

The table of combos is maybe a little too much information for a general wikipedia. If anyone does want to add it back, at least make it complete including all 2- and 3-race combos. I couldn't find these described anywhere on the internet. PizzaMan (talk) 17:38, 16 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
