The Air Force http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=3228 knows only 15 x AU-23A. What's the source for the higher number? Hans-Joachim Zierke (talk) 21:35, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Use for skydiving edit
Shouldn't the article mention skydiving? I'm no expert on this A/C, but it's my impression that today the vast majority of these aircrafts, are used for skydiving. Also mentioning some of the caracteristics that make it ideal for skydiving seems relevant - something like large rate of climb, as well as ability to descent extremely steeply without overspeeding. It's not my area, and I have no sources, but it seems like "common knowledge" among skydivers, so I guess sources must exist. 206.205.184.2 (talk) 04:08, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
- Certainly dont get the impression that most of the 400 odd aircraft built are used for skydiving so I am not sure that it is notable. Many other aircraft are also used for para dropping it may be better to add some general information at Parachuting on what makes the best type with some examples. big picture needed edit
This reads like two seasoned piolots talking over drinks, not an article written for someone who wants to LEARN. For example, I read the whole thing and never got the idea that the plane had enormous power for it's size. The info presented needs to stay in, it's the hard part. Just re-read the thing imagining you are a kid with dreams of being a pilot, then a few more sentences and a reworked thesis statment would do it.

Illegal Airplane? edit

Operators list might need updating edit
I've been looking into Smart Cakrawala Aviation Company based in Indonesia (just doing some due diligence ahead of a potential business enquiry) and their contact said they use the PC-6. The company isn't listed under Indonesian civil operators and probably should be; their facebook page shows several photos and video of PC-6s in their livery being flown by their pilots. However. I'm not sure of correct referencing procedure or whether they lease the aircraft from someone else or how that might affect the rules for them being listed as an operator. It may be that the whole list needs updating. Sorry if this seems like a silly post to make here- I'm sure an experienced editor would find this kind of update relatively trivial- but I'm not sure how I'd go about doing it myself. 82.37.41.171 (talk) 14:44, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
