No flights outside SE Asia? edit

If I read this right, there are no flights from here (or anywhere else in Cambodia) to anywhere further away than Beijing, and thus nowhere outside SE Asia. Surely must be quite an impressive record for a country of such a size (same as Syria, nearly twice that of Hungary) and nearly 15 million people to have no direct air connections outside its immediate region? This might be a difficult thing to establish, but just seemed like a decent piece of trivia!

You got to know that it's a small airport. The runways aren't even as large as other airports are. Going to Cambodia to see family in 2000 compared to 2006, the airport has changed quite a bit due to renovations. But it, by no means, was increased in size or taxiways. It wouldn't be able to handle a larger capacity unless they made runways more bigger. If you haven't been there, I'll try and put it in perspective: Most airports (i.e JFK, Changi, or Narita) have taxiways that a plane can land going only one way. At Phnom Penh (Pochetong), even a smaller jet has to land and then turn around to taxi back into the terminal. In many cases, other airports, you don't need to because they can just taxi right in. I mean, the nearest and most often traveled route for visitors is via Changi in Singapore(from what I've seen). There are other flights, obviously, to and fro other countries but mainly in nearby Asian countries.

Korea isn't in SE Asia. It's a 5 hour flight away. 36.37.236.74 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 06:37, 31 May 2011 (UTC).Reply

According to the updated information on the page, there are multiple flights beyond Southeast Asia; Tokyo, Inchon, Novosibirsk , Macau, Hong Kong, Nanning, Shanghai, Canton, and Shenzhen all have direct flights to and from Phnom Penh. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.248.166.200 (talk) 10:32, 11 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

I can't find any evidence that the PNH-LPQ exists? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 175.100.127.101 (talk) 10:20, 16 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

We don't know if you can find evidence or not. What an odd question to ask us. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.22.93.155 (talk) 10:35, 29 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Updated photo of the airport edit

The photo of the airport on this wiki is terribly outdated. Can someone upload a new photo instead. M nurhaikal (talk) 22:38, 4 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
