Changing subject of the Article

@Llemiles The article would be better served as a biography as I think Phil is just notable enough to warrant an article, but definitely not "The Eye" Thepenguin9 (talk) 21:33, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

Perhaps so, I can see some value in his previous work for the BBC etc. However the sources on this article at present are very thin (one WalesOnline article) and would be insufficient to justify an article for him. The modern site is completely insufficient in notability and wouldn't warrant inclusion on a Phil Parry article. I'm still proposing deletion, and would advise it incubate in draftspace as a prospective Phil Parry article. That said, the issues with User:Martin Clintergate and User:80.189.151.94‎ make me wonder whether they have any connection with Phil. The promotional tone of many of their edits makes me feel there may be some link (entirely speculative I admit). Llemiles (talk) 21:48, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

I have to say, I am with User:Sionk on sticking with the name The Eye Wales, though it's noble of you to try and save the article. The article is clearly inadequate and flawed. It should be deleted and a draft for Phil Parry should be worked on by either yourself or the article creator, and published once the content is better. Moving the page to new titles is just confusing and distracting for readers who will already be confused by the article's poor content. Llemiles (talk) 22:20, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

From looking at their contributions the author could potentially be in cahoots with Martin and the IP editor, and whilst my English skills are fairly excellent on the Language side, I am incredibly bad at writing something substantive from nothing/little information, let alone something that wouldn't be classed as a stub.

I also personally believe The Eye shouldn't be saved, but Phil should due to the sources that are definitely out there, but hard to find. Because of this I am reluctant to, but I will admit that without someone with more experience in the creation of articles that both topics are currently doomed to not warrant inclusion here on the site. It appears there are some reasonable editors on here who have identified the link between Llemiles and Nation Cymru which is a site he created.My opinion as a SE Asia based former Reuters journalist is that Llemiles has an agenda. I do enjoy seeing people claim I'm more important than I am. Only a few weeks ago I was accused of working for a major UK startup bank and being paid to edit their pages (I don't). Now I'm the guy who created Nation.Cymru. I've got 2,500 Wiki edits and most people have the common sense to realise long time editors are not editing for the commercial gain or to grow their own article. If you had such awareness, maybe you'd have read the rules here and not written an article entirely dependent on self referencing. The Eye Wales' article is so advertorial, it makes me question whether you ever really were a SE Asia based former Reuters journalist. Llemiles (talk) 20:21, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

I find your remarks insulting to say the least Llemiles. As I have pointed out before you have links with Nation Cymru and appear to be using Wiki to further a pro independence Wales agenda. I am puzzled as to why Phil Parry’s awards are not notable. He was a key journalist in Wales from the 1980’s until 2010. He worked for the three major news outlets,The South Wales Echo,HTV and BBC Wales where he presented Week In Week Out for a decade. No mean feat. In contrast Ifan Morgan Jones at Nation Cymru has only ever worked as a ‘journalist ‘ for online Welsh language sites. There is clearly a conflict between the Eye and Nation Cymru with the former being established in 2011. Martin Clintergate (talk) 20:30, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
