Music Career edit
The section title ==Music Career== seems inappropriate given that it only covers Pete's early musical career. I have toyed with ==Early Success==, ==The 1960s and 1970s== and ==Early Career== but none satisfy me. Any other suggestions? —Theo (Talk) 20:58, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
English singers edit
User:Crystallina, from whose user talk page I have cross-posted this, moved Pete Atkin from Category:English singers to the larger Category:British singers. I could understand a change in the opposite direction (a sharpening of the category) but I cannot see how a singer born in England, who performs and records in England, singing songs in English in a genre called "English chansons" is more British than English. All the dead edit
Somehow I expected to be able to find lots of Pete Atkin's 1970s music on Youtube or somewhere. I can find "All the dead" and it's lovely, and it sort of works with the Watch Men video somebody paired it with. But where are songs like "National Steel", "Rain Wheels" and "Secret Drinker"? I know I found it damned hard to interest other people in Atkin the 1970s and 1980s, but those bad days are gone. He's a hero, he worked with Clive James, and he produced some of the most beautiful songs in the English language. What happened? --TS 00:08, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
additional sources edit
I've got some newspaper clippings that I think can flesh our the sources here. I also noticed that Chris Spedding is listed as being part of the touring band, but I don't see any confirmation of that, and the Smash Flops web site lists him only as a session player. - Ok I've done quite a bit of cleanup...there are a number of odd errors, I think probably taken from Sutton Elms and the music encyclopedia (which are not the best sources, I think). I've collected quite a few more newspaper clippings, but right now I'm working on entries for the albums. I think the next step for this article is to sequence a bit more clearly, and then transition away from the copy that was from the old press release. Justinkrivers (talk) 03:33, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
