Needs Fixing edit

This page is in need of some serious fixing.

1. It looks like it was written by the event's organizers, which is strongly discouraged.

2. It is worded incredibly repetitively, sounds kinda like Hank Hill's tagline of "propane and propane accessories", and almost seems to have been written as a ploy to get web searches for pawpaws to end up here... which is not allowed on Wikipedia.

3. It really should be titled "Ohio Pawpaw Festival" instead of the current title of "Pawpaw Festial". There are other pawpaw festivals in the United States, and the event itself is actually called the Ohio Pawpaw Festival. Check out the event's web site (in the references section).

4. As noted by the tag at the top, it's not really wikified.

However, it could be argued that as per Wikipedia:Notability_(events) this article does fit the criteria for notability as it pertains to a "widespread societal group". Including articles like this can help pawpaw enthusiasts as well as those curious about the fruit to more easily find the information they need. The festival is also highly attended by folks from throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Kentucky, as well as the rest of the United States.

Suggestions edit

Pawpaw festivals are a general phenomenon. The Athens Ohio one seems to be the biggest, according to anecdote. The article should probably be rewritten to reflect this, and since the other pawpaw festivals tend to be much smaller, it does not seem to make sense at this point to create a general article about pawpaw festivals and the one in Athens. Obviously, more and updated references are needed. Some pictures would be good, too. Dcattell (talk) 13:56, 18 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
