Merger proposal
editI propose NOT TO merge Ventilative cooling into Passive cooling. Even though these articles appear to have some kind of similarities there is a clear distinction between the two. According to the Passive cooling article: “Passive cooling covers all natural processes and techniques of heat dissipation and modulation without the use of energy” while ventilative cooling may use energy (mechanical ventilation to cool indoor spaces [“Ventilative cooling is the use of natural or mechanical ventilation to cool indoor spaces”]. I agree with M.Caps79. Ventilative cooling strategies/techniques are not all passive. It is not relevant to merge the article Ventilative cooling into the article Passive cooling. (37.71.103.206 (talk) 07:02, 16 September 2020 (UTC))
- Sorry, missed the ping. The contents of Ventilative cooling, passive cooling, and passive ventilation overlaps fairly heavily and could be better-integrated. But maybe a merge isn't the best method. Suggestions? HLHJ (talk) 22:30, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
- I have joined this conversation after working first on the heat pump article, and then the air source heat pump article which led me to air conditioning which tries to cover both mechanical refrigerative air conditioning and also many sorts of passive cooling which led me to this discussion. Personally I think it would be more satisfactory to move the passive elements of the air conditioning article into other articles and then possibly move the remaining article which will be about 'air conditioners' to that article name. This does however beg the question as to the roles of ventilative cooling, passive cooling and passive ventilation articles, and indeed a few others. PeterEastern (talk) 14:30, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

Please update with: "Conversion and storage of solar energy for cooling"
editPlease update the article with info about the article. I think that e.g. section #Evaporative_cooling could be slightly expanded and also inform about chemical storage for off-grid energy etc.
Info on the study is featured in 2021 in science currently like so:
Scientists report the development of a new solar-energy passive off-grid chemically-stored on-demand cooling system for houses and/or refrigeration without electrical components which may be useful for climate change mitigation and adaptation.[1][2][3]
The images in the study are licensed under CC-BY so they could be uploaded and added, albeit I think they may not be that useful.
