Cat or politician

I'm glad we have people here to correct the UK government; they might have thought they were a sovereign nation with the right to create and fill political positions as they saw fit. Are you sure as long as Wikipedia is explaining things to the British government, we shouldn't start with explaining that a monarchy involves a monarch with power over the nation?--Prosfilaes (talk) 10:26, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

@Prosfilaes: You've been using this same, "How dare you presume to 'correct' the mighty and sovereign Her Majesty's Government!" argument for a while now. Please provide one source that shows that Her Majesty's Government provides Palmerston with a budget, or a staff, or an office, or an organization chart, or any of the indica of an actual government position. You won't be able to, I'm fairly certain, because "chief mouser" is not an actual government position; it's a transparent PR move. And you've been ignoring it for a while now. I don't think we are allowed to apply critical thinking to things that are so sharply under a government's power; a government may create and destroy official government positions and fill them at will. Leader

Good article, it's nice to see not everyone on Wikipedia is po-faced. But since Palmerston is the FCO cat rather than naming the PM in the infobox, shouldn't it be the Foreign Secretary? And, linked, what is meant by BoJo being "leader". If that is true now, it clearly wasn't when Palmerston got the job. Isn't the link to chief mouser incorrect? It links to the cabinet office role, whereas that is not the position, it is chief mouser to the FCO for Palmerston. Ginister (talk) 12:59, 27 December 2019 (UTC)
