The result of the proposal was move. JPG-GR (talk) 01:20, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

PUBPub (disambiguation) — The dab page points to pages capitalised PUB and Pub, as well as various acronyms etc. It should be named Pub not PUB per WP:DAB#NAME; "A word is preferred to an abbreviation". — Rogerb67 (talk) 16:03, 18 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Nom - Speedy move "Uncontroversial move" queried for reason contradicted by policy at WP:D. Would have boldly moved but the target has a history.
  • Support per the name convention. Tassedethe (talk) 15:50, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Any additional comments:
  • Why is this the expected location? Most of the terms on the page are acronyms. olderwiser 15:46, 18 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
    • WP:DAB#NAME; "A word is preferred to an abbreviation" per expanded justification above. --Rogerb67 (talk) 16:11, 18 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
      • That guidance was only added at the beginning of August, not entirely without dissent, and with some ongoing refinement. My opinion at that time, was If most terms on a page are for an initialism and only a small number use the term as a word, I'd place the term at the initialism -- I think this could be an extension of the general principle of preferring the more common form for a title I still that that is more appropriate that enforcing a one-size-fits-all rule, especially since there is a primary usage for pub. On a page where most of the entries are for the initialism, it seems more appropriate for the disambiguation page to be at the all caps title. I've asked for further discussion at Wikipedia talk:Disambiguation#A word is preferred to an abbreviation. olderwiser 16:26, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
        • OK I had no idea the consensus was so fragile; it seemed like a no-brainer to me, supported by policy when queried. Clearly this does require discussion. In light of this, a speedy move is not appropriate, but my request still stands. --Rogerb67 (talk) 19:52, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Support the move which imho is a no-brainer and is according to a perfectly good bit of policy. Abtract (talk) 16:13, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
