Carpo1982 (talk) 08:27, 16 April 2013 (UTC) Hi all. I'm in the process of doing a major gut of this page and getting it up to standard. As a result, i'm going to remove the historic tag that was place on the page back in 07 about primary sources, i'm aware of this and will sort it out over the next week or so. If anyone has an issue please restore the tag and comment here. Cheers, Carpo.Reply

The result was: The team is notable. I will change the tags accordingly. --B. Wolterding 09:08, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

This review has been announced on the talk page of WikiProject Ice Hockey. Comments should be added on this page, below.

As part of the Notability wikiproject, I am trying to sort out whether this topic is notable enough to have its own article. The team in question is an amateur team, playing in the third-highest league in England (for all I understand), so it's not clear that it is directly notable. It's more a question of how far one should go in covering individual teams. What is your general standard for that on WikiProject Ice Hockey?

Your opinions are welcome; please add your comments below. --B. Wolterding 13:59, 8 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't think that WP:HOCKEY has even set a threshold for notability for European teams. Based on the template at the bottom of the article, it would seem that this team plays at the third level of British hockey? There are articles for all minor league teams in North America, even those that below the third tier, but hockey in North America is much bigger than it is in the UK. There are also articles on teams and leagues the 2nd and 3rd tiers of junior ice hockey, but again, same reason. Even though it is stated in the league article that this team plays in an amateur league, I would personally argue that since it is in a unified national league, has a history over 20 years (founded in 1984), and in the third tier of British hockey, that the team, and others in this league, are notable. I would say that it was. The Elite League itself would rate (at level best) as a low minor league in comparison to the North American leagues, which would probably place this loop around Tier II juniors in quality. The most recent consensus is that Tier II teams are notable.  Ravenswing  23:23, 8 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
