I think the Summer Street article is of enough length and significance in its own right that it couldn't be merged into the Orange article. Ajayvius 10:25, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Climate

Meteorological data from Orange Post Office have not been collected since 1968, so I have reverted to the previous version of the article. But is there more up-to-date data than the data from Orange PO that is more representative than the airport data? Ondewelle (talk) 11:38, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Population

The population of Orange is not 57,544 people, however the population in this article is wrong. The correct population of Orange is 38,000 as the official website says here: http://www.orange-nsw.com/History.html. I'm not sure if you've been to Orange, but even as you enter the city there is a sign with the population of Orange listed as 38,000. .id consulting have been contracted by the Council to prepare those figures and thus they are not an independent source. Census figures are independent and consistent. Unless there has been massive demographic change, which there has not been in Orange, they are not grossly out of date and are more than suitable for use here. -- Mattinbgn (talk) 07:18, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

.id are using ABS statistics. The site also states 'However the Census count is not the official population of an area. To provide a more accurate population figure which is updated more frequently than every 5 years, the Australian Bureau of Statistics also produces "Estimated Resident Population" (ERP) numbers.' These ABS statistics can be located here http://www.abs.gov.au/AUSSTATS/abs@.nsf/DetailsPage/3218.02008-09, they record 38,685. I replaced the not-at-all-useful external link with a more useful reference. James Blackman (not John Blackman as he was being called) probably deserves a WP article; he's mentioned in a number of articles in relation to that part of NSW and he has a biography on the Australian Dictionary of Biography, so I redlinked him in anticipation.Kerry (talk) 01:57, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Duplicated "climate" section

There were two sections headed "climate", with different (though not conflicting) text and a weather box from different meteorological stations. I have attempted to combine the text and included both weather boxes in the one section. The second weather box, with the less complete data, might be better as collapsible/expandable. Orphaned references in Orange, New South Wales

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Orange, New South Wales's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
