I suggest the article be split.
The French, Italian and Spanish Wikipedias already have different articles for the two different writers; the Portuguese Wikipedia has two different articles (one of them not yet written), but the writers are confused with one another.
The task of maintaining inter-language links is not easy in such cases; one can dream of a coordinated international action to solve this case and similar ones. JmCor (talk) 05:58, 4 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
That's all well and good but Oppian is the ENGLISHCOMMON name of Oppian of Corycus, who is by far the PRIMARYTOPIC even if some lesser works by another guy got mixed up with his reputation. The page should not be split: Oppy₂ should be split off and linked via {{hatnote}} dab. — LlywelynII 00:00, 12 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
