"Bill aimed at eliminating Donald Tusk from the political scene" edit

This description seems to put a very biased spin on the new law. It's aimed at eliminating Russian interference; while there are concerns that it could also be used to target Tusk and co., it's patently not aimed at him, and the phrasing should be changed to reflect that instead of stating it as a definitive fact. 80.121.218.182 (talk) 07:20, 31 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Political Changes is not a real polling firm, they don't provide method, fieldwork date or sample size - it's just a joke of Roman Giertych: https://natemat.pl/381545,sondaz-political-changes-tak-giertych-kpi-z-osrodkow-sprzyjajacych-pis Leo0502 (talk) 12:41, 18 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
They have predicted the results in ruda śląska, they also send size and method when you ask them per e-mail. 62.169.197.95 (talk) 11:28, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Left-wing bias within the article edit

Why is there a KO+L+TD count in the seat projection but not a similar PiS+Con seat count chart for the right side of the political aisle? 80.131.49.87 (talk) 23:15, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Confederation declared a Cordon sanitaire (politics) against PiS. 2A02:3030:817:84EF:1:0:6BEE:57CA (talk) 21:51, 26 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

5% or 8%? edit

As far as i know, there is a threshold for qualification into the parliament in Poland. It's 5% for parties, and an 8% for alliances. Unfortunately it's far from clear which column belongs to which category, although this can have a significant effect on the future government. Even the individual pages for these political groups are not too informative about this issue, so if someone in Poland looked into this issue and added it to the page, it would be extremely helpful. 85.66.250.191 (talk) 21:22, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

According to the Electoral Commision the two major committees which are registered as coalitions are Third Way and Civic Coalition. As such they require 8% to reach the threshold and all others require 5%. 92.22.83.40 (talk) 21:40, 27 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Primary election in Wieruszów edit

Recently in Wieruszów, a primary election was held in Wieruszów. You can find the results of it here: [1]http://prawybory.wieruszow.pl/wyniki/ Should we add it to the list of opinion polls for current election? List of opinion polls for 2005 Polish parliamentary election mentions the primary election results. 87.199.44.56 (talk) 14:47, 18 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

I think it should be added to the list. I had added it recently, but unfortunately it got deleted. If it was included in 2005 election's opinion polling list, it should be added also this year. And even when someone would say, that "this should be not included", Wieruszów primary election (a. k. a. trial voting) is still a valid poll, that indicates current voters' preferences, and also shows the percentage of votes for parties, that weren't present on the list previously. I'm curious what was the real reason of removing it from the page? It was explained nowhere. Also nobody replied to your question - so we should start a conversation about undoing (or keeping) the recent changes which caused the removal of this poll. Even the most-known polish media mentioned, that the results of primary voting in Wieruszów are very important in the campaign (for both voters and candidates) at this moment. It's pretty obvious why:
  • The page is titled "Opinion polling for the 2023 Polish parliamentary election". An election is not an opinion poll, very simple.
  • The the table is for national opinion polling, not for a random constituency, which can't be representative for all of Poland. It makes no sense to add data to a table where the numbers are not comparable in any way.

Understandable, but look at the Opinion polling for the 2005 Polish parliamentary election - primary election was included on the list as one of the polls.
So should we just completely skip this election from Wieruszów?
OR maybe we should create another table in this article which would be specifically dedicated for primary election (as an additional voters' opinion indication)? Splasheł (talk) 22:02, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
The purpose of this page is to help with understanding voting intentions.
There are entries in the tables which are not necessarily polls, but still provide useful information - there are important news and results of other elections. Even though it's not done on a representative group, the trial voting still gives information about voting intentions, so it should be included in the table.
