I'm confused... edit

I was under the impression that Operation Titanic was the shuttle-bombing campaign of USAAF planes between England and the USSR -- there's a period film of that name concerning the campaign. But on this very wiki, it seems that the USAAF Operation Titanic is named Operation Frantic. Was the operation name changed later on to prevent confusion with this Operation Titanic, the D-Day deception campaign? Pat Payne (talk) 18:07, 23 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

No idea; it doesn't look like any other source refers to it as Titanic, merely as Frantic. If I were to speculate: it could be a deliberate choice to have misnamed the operation in the propaganda film for reasons of security. Or it could simply be a records error - not at all uncommon. Given the similarity of the name Frantic/Titanic I'd not be surprised. --Errant (chat!) 20:01, 23 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
