Synonymous with "numbers station"? edit

According to spynumbers.com

"SPYCRAFT is a new book about the history of the CIA's spy technologies. It discusses the CIA's use of Spy Numbers stations, called the One Way Voice Link (OWVL)!"

"Spycraft: The Secret History of the CIA's Spytechs, from Communism to al-Qaeda"

That book could turn out to be a source for this article, or maybe this will end up being merged with numbers stations Forkhandles (talk) 15:52, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Number stations are indeed officially (internally) called One Way (Secure) Voice Links by the CIA. But the NS article does not address burst transmissions and stuff described here. I don't have a real idea how to fix it, obviously the other article has more information about the voice stations. Add a subsection for Voice transmissions and link to the NS article maybe? Number stations also include digital and morse variants, presumably not addressed by the "OWVL" term? I guess merging might be a good idea, as long as the burst info is integrated into the NS article. --83.208.218.52 (talk) 01:07, 1 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
