The completion of the road must not have eliminated the need because the steamers still ran from Soda Creek to Quesnel on and off until 1921. I'm sure it reduced the need and was part of the reason that the Upper Fraser paddlewheelers went obsolete.CindyBo 04:43, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Added info about a wagon road also called "Cariboo" and leading to the Cariboo and other mining regions of BC. Its function was much like the Okanagan Trail, except it didn't follow the Columbia River, and was a road up the Okanagan Valley rather than a water-route. I'm not entirely sure this info truly belongs on this page, but as it was called the Cariboo Trail or Road, it seemed appropriate to at least make a mention here.
