Talk:Ohio Graduation Test

Faculty reception edit

I think there should be a section on what teachers and administrators think about the OGT. I go to one of the two Excellent rated schools in the Cincinnati district and all of the teachers at my school consider it a joke. My chemistry teacher told me that e would be better off learning real science in his class and to not answer questions the way we would if he asked us about them because he's had experience with the test readers not understanding correct answers and marking them wrong. My history teacher said that we should study for the SS test by looking at "all the pretty pictures" in out Norton texts. Millancad (talk) 05:07, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Relevance of Justin Jeffre's Opinion edit

The Ohio graduation test is certainly not perfect. It is sometimes the focus of editorials and news stories. Because of the criticism (which is similar to all standardized exit exams), the OGT is to be replaced with a different system. We would need many pages to document the editorials opposed to the OGT. We would need considerably more to document every letter that is sent to the Ohio Department of Education complaining about it.

Therefore, I propose removing the complaint by Justin Jeffre (likely added by Justin himself). A letter from an unknown man with little knowledge regarding education policy or state assessments is hardly worthy of noting on a website with “encyclopedia” standards.
