Talk:Officer Crabtree

Origin

The bit about Edward Heath is correct, however Allo Allo is a spoof of Secret Army (so Rene is Bernard Hepton's character in that and there is the bed-ridden woman upstairs and the faked painting to fool the Germans etc etc). Secret Army also had a uniformed police officer who is secretly helping the Resistance - so given all the other stuff copied from Secret Army then surely Crabtree is clearly based on that character. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr gobrien (talkcontribs) 11:11, 20 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

catchphrase

edit

Is his catchphrase not rather "good mooning", which is what I seem to hear from him from the DVD, AND which is much more in phase with the general dirty or sexual (involuntary) innuendoes from this character? If I do not mistake, to "moon" is to show one's bottom in public, right?

No, his catchphrase is 'Good Moaning' because he's trying to say "Good Morning".I guess the edit on 25 December has already mentioned that it his catchphrase.--218.186.12.223 (talk) 04:49, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
