editProblem with Livy quote
In the lede: "they were described by the Roman historian Livy as "by far the worst horsemen in Africa."[1]"
A reference to a specific passage in Ab Urbe Condita is given. I suspected a faulty translation for the word rendered as "worst", so I decided to look up the given passage, both in Latin and in translation. No statement even loosely related to the 'quote' in the lede is to be found anywhere in book XXIX. I suspect the entire quote is either mis-referenced or entirely bogus. At the very least, the citation does not hold up. 82.176.221.176 (talk) 11:01, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

- The quote is correct and not "bogus" as claimed by the editor who removed it. The citation was off by one chapter; it is AUC Book 29, Chapter 34, not Chapter 35.
