2 tiny places ? disambiguation page

edit

I've found 2 places in Somerset called Northover. One is part of Ilchester at ST522230 & the other on the outskirts of Glastonbury at ST484381. I think both should be included in their parish articles & perhaps a disambiguation page put in the place of the current (not very informative) article. Any thoughts?— Rod talk 15:30, 1 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mount Northover

edit

I found "Mount Northover". BC Geographical Names. while building List of peaks on the British Columbia-Alberta border. The cite has no mention of a name origin, but bivouac.com does, apparently from a climbing or parks guide - "Mount Northover". Bivouac.com. gives the namesake as a Lieutenant A.W. Northover of the 28th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Forces in World War I. The peak was named in 1917 and is most likely in his memory, either for death or deed (most such peaks are for the dead, but not all e.g. Mount Cornwell). Some ancestral connection to either village is very likely. There's also U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System: Northover Camp, a locality in New Jersey.Skookum1 (talk) 05:01, 14 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
