He had a good career and was in loads of things (like the first West End run of Michael Frayn's huge hit Noises Off, as second male lead to Paul Eddington), but he was probably right to predict that he'd be remembered for that one guest role in Fawlty Towers -- well, that and Witchfinder General, which has a cult following.
