Article Title

edit

The title of this article is unwieldy and looks like an attempt to be politically correct about the various inoffensive terms for people in distress. Since the article is about the human right to education as viewed by the UN, that organization's basic term "refugees" (as in UN Convention on the Status of Refugees) should be the extent of this article's title. Article titles in Wikipedia also need to be easily searchable and categorizeable; see WP:PRECISE. I recommend a simple Education for refugees for the title here. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 01:46, 9 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposing to split this article into two

edit

Education for internally displaced persons requires significantly different approaches than education for newcomers to a country of refuge. Newcomer is a term that encompasses documented and undocumented immigrants, refugees, and asylees in a country of refuge. Newcomers require language, community and acculturation support as a core part of their education. Internally displaced persons require a focus on support for basic needs and mobile education.
