109 as GSP? edit

Google Maps has the portion of Route 109 between Washington St. and the official so. terminus of the Garden State Pkwy. labeled as "Garden State Pkwy" and gives locations on this stretch as having addresses on the Garden State Pkwy. The surface level photos looking north approaching the parkway show prominent signs for the left turn to continue on Route 109 to meet US 9, but no sign pointing straight ahead for the GSP, and after it's too late to turn off, a small "TOLL ROAD" sign above another small regulatory sign.

It looks as though authorities are trying to obscure the beginning of the Garden State Parkway. What's going on?69.127.5.5 (talk) 23:28, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

From what I know, none of NJ 109 is part of the Garden State Parkway. Do not trust Google Maps as they have errors in their cartography. Dough4872 01:36, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
I've seen my share of Google Maps errors, but in this case there seems to be justif'n, given the lack of signage picked up by their camera truck. I don't know where the first reassurance sign is saying "Garden State Parkway" northbound from the southern terminus, and I haven't the patience now to take a Google sign truck trip. I've never been farther south than the Margate exit in person. This also wouldn't be the first time I've seen a route that was signed-unsigned, so to speak, i.e. supposed to be signed but for some reason not, and apparently not from neglect.69.127.5.5 (talk) 21:16, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Lack of signage doesn't matter, according to the NJDOT straight-line diagram, none of NJ 109 is named the Garden State Parkway, it is an unnamed road simply referred to by its route number. By the way, addresses of businesses along the road is simply "New Jersey 109" according to Google Maps. Dough4872 21:39, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
