Mileposts edit

If Exit 1 on the I-93 to Hampton Beach expressway section of NH-101 is at milepost 60.85, why do the newly placed NHDOT mileposts start at 100 along this section? -- Tckma 14:01, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Robert C. Erler Highway? edit

There is a sign saying "The Robert C. Erler Highway" at the "East 101/West 101" entrance ramp split at Interchange 3 (Candia). Page 8 of the book "Images of America: Raymond" says "... The old Route 101 (now State Route 27) was completed in 1938, linking Hampton with Keene. In 1984, the new Route 101 was completed, allowing a much easier passage from Manchester to the Atlantic ocean via Raymond. The highway was dedicated to Robert C. Erler, a former selectman and representative to the general court. ...".

  1. How much of Rt. 101 has that name?
  2. Are there any other (surviving) signs?

Under a 1981 state law (chapter 69) the Robert C. Erler Highway is defined as being "NH Route 101 from a beginning point at the Auburn-Candia town line to the Raymond-Epping town line" - which I suppose could be added to the story! - DavidWBrooks (talk) 19:15, 13 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Actually, several stretches have names. I've added them, as well. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 19:57, 13 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately, my source for those names is a document produced by the N.H. Department of Transportation, a history of which is not online and not easily reference-able. I'm going to make a footnote about it, but it's kind of weird. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 13:07, 14 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Interstate 92 edit

Should be mentioned mentioned in the history section of this article that this highway has been been proposed as I-92 for a while? NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 20:33, 23 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Interesting - what sourcing is there? - DavidWBrooks (talk) 22:03, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I just checked the East–West Highway (New England) article and I am not sure if the sources there count. NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 09:48, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Why is this section in the article? edit

There's a large chunk of text after "Northern New England is served by the following major north–south freeways radiating generally northward from Boston, Massachusetts" ... which has nothing to do with an east-west highway. I would like to remove it. Any comments? - DavidWBrooks (talk) 01:51, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

I agree with you that it should be removed. It's not identical to the text in the East–West Highway (New England), so someone may want to check if there's any info in this section that should be transferred over there. Thanks for pointing this out! Ken Gallager (talk) 14:13, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
