Fair use rationale for Image:NESCAClogo.gif

Image:NESCAClogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:58, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

The "Rivalries" section

This section appears to have been recently converted to emphasize the minor aspect of a Colby, Bates, Bowdoin rivalry, and appears to be inappropriate as an entry for NESCAC. It may also exibit signs of bias or favoritism for the preceding reason, and through its indirect diminishment of the Little Three. The prior content, in almost any iteration, was decidedly more balanced and appropriate. Claims about "drinking cultures" and connections to Boston, New York and Philadelphia are without reliable citation and also seemingly infiltrated with bias. The writing quality is currently below Wikipedia standards. Does anyone know how to restore the NESCAC pages as a unit to the form they were in prior to the recent disruptions?Mercury42 (talk) 17:02, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

I'm not seeing the bias toward Bates College, however I am in agreement that the inter school rivalries between the three college seem a bit too in depth for the official NESCAC page - I went ahead and removed the table, and have restored the section. Also I'm not seeing any citations for the little three grouping, thus have thrown a [citation needed] on it so it can be addressed. There are two photos one of Bates playing a football game with Bowdoin and another with Colby, I think thats only because suitable substitutes have yet to be found on Wikimedia Commons. As for your issues with citations last I checked, there was at least four different citations following the one sentence outlining the drinking culture. Four is more than enough. And for the geographic distribution sentence a cite needed temp has been added. Odwallah (talk) 21:15, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Motto for Wesleyan?

Is there any motto for Wesleyan? I saw one was added but it was removed... Odwallah (talk) 04:27, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

There is no motto for Wesleyan University. See this. Trenta5 (talk) 23:21, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Sports sponsored

Did I miss it, or does this article not include a list of which sports the conference sponsors? Powers T 15:12, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

I don't know the specifics but will look into the sport sponsorship for this atheletic conference. Trenta5 (talk) 23:20, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Reverting Page

In consideration of the revelation that users Trenta5, Odwallah, Yorkshiremany, FirstLordofDowningStreet, Wentworth Washington and maybe more were all sock puppets of the now banned DonSpencer1, I am reverting this page back to Mercury42's 23:55, 24 September 2015 edit‎. This date was chosen as it reflects the last state of the page prior to DonSpencer1 engaging in sock puppetry.74.70.116.187 (talk) 02:11, 24 September 2016 (UTC)

Just an athletic conference?

In the lede of the article it says:

"The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) is a collegiate athletic conference comprising sports teams from eleven private liberal arts colleges in the Northeastern United States.."

I think it would be better to change it to include the graduate programs involved, resource sharing, etc. This is probably a contentious issue so I will leave a note here and wait for input. 505NEED (talk) 20:06, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Source for Amherst letting go of Lord Jeff

Looked around and could not find a source, that should be added or the content should be removed. 505NEED (talk) 20:07, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
