Ethnocentric history strikes again
editGetting to be a common pattern, sadly, in BC. This article, if written, shouldn't have focussed only on the Japanese-Canadian internment, and might have made an effort to talk about the Idaho Peak galena mines and the history of the Slocan, and about other ethnicities/peoples resident in New Denver. Ethnocentric history is, to me, a genuine pain in the ass, and kind of insulting, too.Skookum1 00:38, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
Cell Phones/WiFi
editCan this be somehow incorporated? http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070723/wr_nm/cellphones_dc http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/dept-of-huh%3F/town-goes-cell+phone-free-then-announces-wi+fi-for-all-281361.php — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.30.202.15 (talk • contribs) 16:30, 23 July 2007
Requested move

The result of the proposal was moved. It's possible the village shouldn't be a primary topic, but with "New Denver" redirecting here, it already is. No prejudice against a move showing why that shouldn't be. --BDD (talk) 21:56, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
New Denver, British Columbia → New Denver – Name is unique, no secondary uses exist, target is redirect to current title. Canadian disambiguation rules per CANSTYLE say unique town/city names take no disambiguation Skookum1 (talk) 03:29, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
- Comment. There's also New Denver (album), which while is an independently produced album, may challenge the primary usage of "New Denver". The BC village only has a population of 504. Basically, we have a small village vs. a small-time album. I'm not convinced that the village deserves the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC status. —seav (talk) 00:45, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
- Further comment. The album has been tagged as having a disputed notability (since 2012). So there may be a case that the village deserves the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC status. —seav (talk) 00:47, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
- Suffice to say the town is on the map....the band is not.Skookum1 (talk) 04:35, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

Zincton, etc.
editI undid the revisions to this article that deleted "Flora and Fauna" and added a "We are a small municipality..." section. Far as I know, encyclopedias don't claim to be small municipalities, so the section was obviously inserted to promote the village. Also added the Zincton Controversy section.
