Wikipedia:Copyright problems summarizes Wikipedia:Fair use policy, including "brief selections of copyrighted text may be used ... only when the purpose is to comment on or criticize the text quoted." The substantial passage, merely copied, has been removed. (Additionally, the substance of that passage is not relevant to a bio without reason to believe he is notable for furthering notable research or notably participating in a notable controversy about the topic he wrote on; the passage supports the contrary presumption IMO.)
