Rename edit

Can somebody with more Wikipedia knowhow than me please change the name of this article to "National History Bee and Bowl" as that is the official name that is used when both competitions are being referenced together, including in brochures, press releases, etc.? This is a minor point, but if the two competitions are going to be grouped together under one Wikipedia page rather than having two separate ones (which may be best) then can the title at least please read "National History Bee and Bowl" with an automatic redirect set up for "National History Bowl and Bee"? I changed it. Mpgviolist (talk) 03:20, 25 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Is "The National History Bee and Bowl" synomymous with "National History Bee and National History Bowl"? Also, is "The National History Bee and Bowl, LLC" still in existence?--Prisencolinensinainciusol (talk) 19:58, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
The latter two should make up the former.
I don't see why the company still wouldn't exist, whatever they call themselves. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:39, 2 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
NHBB LLC stopped appearing in their press releases after 2012 or so, which leads me to guess that the organization was unincorporated or something. Mainly the problem I have is that if the two events are viewed as separate in this article, why not just split them into two articles National History Bowl and National History Bee, seeing as this one is quite long-winded.--Prisencolinensinainciusol (talk) 21:46, 2 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
I don't see a reason to. A lot of information about the two overlap. They're held on the same day, run by the same people, etc. A split wouldn't make sense. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 22:55, 2 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Scope edit

So this article is talking about strictly about the yearly event in DC. Why then does it say that it says it's a "nationwide event"? Also apparently "National History Bee and Bowl" as an event/competition is singular [1].--Prisencolinensinainciusol (talk) 19:28, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Probably referring to the multiple, smaller History Bowls/Bees that happen around the country.
And yes, name is singular, but obviously it is made up of smaller events, so I'm not sure what you wanted to point out there. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:38, 2 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Trying to Resolve the Above Issues edit

NHBB (of which I am both owner and executive director) is still an LLC. As a company, it oversees the National History Bee, National History Bowl, US History Bee, the International History Bee and Bowl, and as of 2015, the International History Olympiad. I think it would probably be best at this point to split the different competitions into their own pages while maintaining National History Bee and Bowl as a page for the company as a whole, which continues to grow rapidly and is now in its fifth year of running tournaments. Within the quizbowl community, of which NHBB is a part, the acronym "NHBB" is used frequently when referring to the company, while "National History Bee" and "National History Bowl" refer to both the regional and national levels of those competitions. If one is referring specifically to the National Championships, then one typically says "History Bowl Nationals" or "History Bee Nationals" or, if referring to the entire weekend, "NHBB Nationals". Hope this helps at some level, although, I'm not sure how best to incorporate this into the wording of the article, or articles, if the decision is made to split. Note that if the page is not split, this page is likely to get even more long-winded/awkward in the future, or otherwise not include pertinent information (e.g. the list of national champions). ~~herrmadden, August 26, 2014~~

Removed tag edit

Removed tags for being outdated (July 2014) and additional citations for verification. Nothing here is outdated, and not sure where additional verification is needed. Almost all of this information is readily available on the various NHBB websites somewhere. ~herrmadden 10/13/14

Content of questions edit

The content of questions should be more clearly made, i.e., that the National History Bee and Bowl (apparently) only deal with U.S. history. Kdammers (talk) 17:04, 13 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Fee edit

It costs to participate in the Bee. This should be mentioned in our article. "_______________________________________________________________________

Registration Fee: $150. This allows every student in the school to participate in the optional Intramural Bee and up to 10 students to take the Online Qualifying Exam and advance to the Regional Finals." http://historybee.com/general-overview/ Kdammers (talk) 17:05, 13 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Order of tables edit

The first 2 tables on the wiki list the results with the most recent at the top however for the rest of the tables it is the reverse. It might make this a bit harder to understand for the readers, and there should be a form of consistency in these tables Curiousmind34 (talk) 15:06, 15 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
