Nibari?

Music

Kinjutsu and other terms

The Kinjutsus seem pretty important to me, from what I've seen anyway. But I don't have access to most of the manga. Only the first seven chapters and volume six. Anyone who has the access, and know whether or not they're that important, create a section based on that? Come to think of it, the Hijustu isn't fully explained either...Maybe a brief description of the villages and what Kinjutsu they possess would be good too. itzjustdrama _{still new to this} (talk) 17:35, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Character List

The character list in the article is very long. The descriptions are too long for main page inclusion, which should only be 1-3 brief sentences. If all of the characters listed are major characters in the series, perhaps it is time to split the section out into a List of Nabari no Ō characters, leaving only brief 1-3 sentence summaries of the primary characters here. Does it seem worth mentioning that it was a finalist in the 2005 Japan Media Arts Festival and was a recommended work? Where would I mention something like this, if it's worthwhile info?

It's only got basic info (short descriptions of the main characters, data on the staff, credits for the OP & ED music, and air times) - nothing that can't be found in the Japanese article. FUNimation's Official R1 Name vs. Wikipedia Naming Schemes

With FUNimation officially licensing the show and calling it "Nabari no Ou," does this mean Wikipedia has to use that name or do they use "Ō" because FUNimation is stupid for using "Ou"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.162.133.160 (talk) 06:24, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Volume 1 through 8 image

I'm feeling a bit iffy about keeping it. My first concern is that it the uploader took the photo, how would they not know it was manga and mislabeled it DVDs? My second concern is a lot more important, if we already have an image of the first cover, which is not only representative of the first volume and those first five chapters in that volume, but the series' primary media franchise and the series as a whole, why do we need a duplicate image of the cover (with an ad promoting the anime series, which includes an image that would fall under another licensing) and spines of volumes two through eight? I realized this when rewording the FUR on the image. Although the original intention was to illustrate the DVD covers, now it doesn't really have a purpose. ~Itzjustdrama ^{? While I have never physical seen a Japanese tankōbon before, I am certain that those are not DVDs. The binders match the volume covers, but not the DVD covers. The top of the binder has GFC for GFantasy Comics and the bottom has SE for Square Enix. However, I agree that the volume one cover is a much better image for this page. Part Shōnen-ai?

Whether to have this article partly label this anime as Shōnen-ai has apparently come up before, judging by a moment or more within the edit history. My question is...should we partly label it that way? Since I am on the topic of Shōnen-ai today at Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga, I felt I should go ahead and bring this up here as well. From watching this anime, I would say that it definitely has Shōnen-ai themes, especially between Miharu Rokujo and Yoite. I am on Episode 15 right now (finally got back around to watching this anime), and will finish the rest soon today, but I have seen the talked about Shōnen-ai in this series (as I already stated).

Among the manga/anime fan community, there is also the common and prominent conclusion that this story is part Shōnen-ai (in the manga and anime), and it is also labeled as part Shōnen-ai by some manga and anime sites. Anime News Network (ANN) is one example, in regards to the anime. If I start expanding the Reception section, which I plan to do, there might also be mention from reviewers that this series has Shōnen-ai themes in it. Thus, do we label this story as part Shōnen-ai in the genre part of infobox? Or do we simply leave it alone, and let it remain more of speculation...even if "confirmed" on the part of some reviewers as being part Shōnen-ai? We lists genres in the anime infoboxes, anyway, and ANN lists Shōnen-ai as a theme (rather than as a genre) of this story. Flyer22 (talk) 17:41, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

I've always removed Shōnen-ai from the infobox simply because the manga falls under Shōnen. I've always thought that Shōnen-ai fell under Shōjo. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

And while we're on genres. I don't really think comedy is a genre, per se. I believe that the manga doesn't purposefully set out to be a comedy manga, but has comedic moments, like many manga. Hmm. It is true that the manga falls under Shōnen, though I have seen it and its anime counterpart appeal to a lot of girls/women as well, but does that mean that we do not acknowledge the Shōnen-ai themes in this story through the infobox? It clearly is not the typical Shōnen-ai, as in specifically marketed to girls/women, but I cannot deny that it is there. It is weird, actually, because you go on YouTube or to some other sites where this manga/anime is being discussed, and you see some guys (as in boys/men) dismiss it as Shōnen-ai...even though it is marketed to guys. I am not hard-pressed on labeling this as Shōnen-ai in the infobox, and I believe that most editors here would be against that as well, but I just wanted to bring it up. Seeing "Shōnen-ai" right there in the genre field would also immediately turn some guys "off" and lead them into believing that the manga/anime is specifically for girls/women. I suppose mentioning Shōnen-ai themes will have do in the Reception section, if some reviewers point out these themes.

As for comedy... Comedy is a genre, and there are plenty of manga/anime articles around here that have it listed it as a genre in their infoboxes. Why would you feel that it is not a genre? This manga and anime has a lot of comedic moments, and it seems natural to me to label it as part comedy. Flyer22 (talk) 22:58, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

On a side note, we have plenty of manga/anime articles that are considered part Yuri, but are not classified as such in their infoboxes here at Wikipedia...because the yuri is a side element rather than a central one. Some examples found in that "side element" link are My-HiME, My-Otome, and Noir. A lot of people would say that Noir is not yuri at all. So, yeah, that is another reason it is no big deal not to acknowledge Nabari no Ou as part Shōnen-ai. I would not call Miharu Rokujo and Yoite's relationship a side element, but this manga/anime was not/is not marketed as Shōnen-ai. In addition, there are actually some people who would say that it is not Shōnen-ai; it is rather a very close relationship between unusual boys who are just learning to be intimate (such as touching hands to show concern) with other people, each other first, is how they say they see it.

If anything, this section here on this talk page should serve as a "read this first" section for people trying to add Shōnen-ai as a genre to this article's infobox. Flyer22 (talk) 02:55, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
