Untitled edit

Regarding links to other articles, the link to the FADER is there as it is the only detailed article on the Internet so far. The Moombahton genre is only 10 weeks old. (204.111.251.148 (talk) 03:38, 12 May 2010 (UTC)) 'duk at NibOOtOO www.nibootoo.netReply

Other Artists? edit

This page reads like a Dave Nada Wiki entry. Is his discography a relevant section here? Moreover, if there are no other significant artists, does this even constitute a genre? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Whip It On Jim (talkcontribs) 06:18, 6 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

One of the biggest moombahton artists now is Dillon Francis, and many others have some work in the genre: Porter Robinson, Munchi, No Body, Nadastrom, Tittsworth.Randyrockett (talk) 23:59, 25 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Dillon Francis is the biggest moombah dropper currently playing, but the greatest support in the industry for moombahton is coming from diplo, who produces many moombahton tracks and also releases mostly moombahton compatible tracks hovering around the 110~108 mark. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.190.159.190 (talk) 01:09, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Soooo.... I've heard a couple tracks and so far I'm not hearing much difference between moombahton and deep house. It should definitely be categorized as a subgenre of house, at least. 81.231.108.23 (talk) 02:57, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Relevance edit

Yes, I've heard moombahton, and I've seen it performed at raves. But is there enough info to have a Wikipedia article about it? I say we should consider this for deletion until there is a decent amount of support for the genre. Also "classic moombahton"? Really?? Is it really old enough to allow for the term "classic" to apply? I put that it needs a citation, because I didn't find anything in the articles that referred to "classic moombahton" and because to be honest, I found it just plain stupid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.151.198.155 (talk) 06:41, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ditto on the "classic moombahton" thing. Sounds dumb. The genre itself has lots of support from artists and fans that produce/listen to it. However, in the professional DJ community the term "moombahton" has not been officially adopted. Beatport categorizes moombahton as a slow BPM version of whatever genre of house it most resembles.Randyrockett (talk) 00:02, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

i think that most of the people here discussing wether Moombahton is a genre or not havent heard nearly enough of the genre to be able to make a significant conclusion on the subject. The Moombahton scene is growing rapidly several blogs and such is spawning around the internet and new artist coming up. Moombahton music is really having a significant touch of sound and doesnt compare enough to any of the related genres to be categorized as a subcategory underneath one of these. Its actually very obvious. also in the comment further down the page suggesting that Moombahcore should be a subgenre too moombahton is much more relevant, because there is a group of moombahton which primarily focuses on remixing Dubstep songs into Moombahton and the outcome is very distinct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.59.46.70 (talk) 21:40, 6 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Rewrite (untitled comment by 87.113.247.131) edit

Basically, it's not a new genre of music. This whole page needs rewritten. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.113.247.131 (talk) 13:24, 16 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

What about Moombahcore? edit

I think Moombahcore is a sub-genre of it. Some people confuse about this genre. Some people thought the Moombahcore track is Dubstep. So, I think Moombahcore is a sub-genre of Moombahton and influenced by Dubstep.

Hey - You will need to provide a source to support that. Also provide enough evidence that it is notable for inclusion.Rain the 1 03:54, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Do these links help? http://www.liveforthefunk.com/2011/01/moombahcore/ for definition, http://soundcloud.com/tags/moombahcore for, I guess, relevance? Showing that it's not just one person producing it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.99.62.98 (talk) 16:15, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Multiple issues edit

The article lacks reliable sources for verification and uses is not written in an unencycopedic tone. WP:words to watch, might be particularly significant here. For all you suckers tryin to say there is no real scene when it comes to Moombahton and that this page should be merged/deleted then you really are not going to the right places or listening to the right artists. Get yourself down to 'Peepers' in Roxton on a Friday night (its pretty much Moombahton and Florida Breaks all night) and feel the energy. DJ T-Blade and DJ Bullwinkle both play Moombahton sets (2 hour each)and they rip it like you never bleive it buddy. Also, check for the 'Hard and Fast' record label as its releasing some absolute fire at the moment. 'Incredulous' has just dropped a new 12" called 'Slather that Blaster' and next month they are bringing out a compilition album called 'Silent Poontang'which has all the first 9 12" releases off the label - plus remixes from Jimmy 'mad-flex' Harris. One Love - and keep the Moombahton scene alive!!! --AlexanderTheG.O.A.T (talk) 15:40, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Song from 2008 which sounds like Moombahton edit

This song sounds like fusion of reggaeton and electronic music and it's from 2008 or before. isnt it Moonbathon? if it isnt, which genre it is? I ask this because here it says the first songs of this genre appeared in 2009

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKQreD9FRA0

Sounds like reggaeton with air horns to me. The tempo (125) is too fast to be moombah but I can see where you're coming from! DJUnBalanced (talk) 17:59, 3 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just attempted to maintain the sources on Moombahton. I managed to add archive links to 1 source, out of the total 1 I modified, whiling tagging 0 as dead.

Please take a moment to review my changes to verify that the change is accurate and correct. If it isn't, please modify it accordingly and if necessary tag that source with {{cbignore}} to keep Cyberbot from modifying it any further. Alternatively, you can also add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page's sources altogether. I believe the article correctly identifies the song "Moombah" as being DJ Chuckie and Silvio Ecomo's and the Moombah remix being Afrojack's. SoundScenario (talk) 21:03, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
