Further work needed

edit

This page needs considerable further work.

  • serious lack of clarity in writing and regarding issues
  • odd footnotes (#10)
  • misleading footnotes (#16)
  • lack of neutrality (under Effects: "clearly outlined" and "clearly show" )
  • incomplete examination of Effects, Controversy, Legacy

First suggestion:

Montana v. United States, 450 U.S. 544 (1981) is a United States Supreme Court case that addressed several important issues concerning tribes' treaty rights, property interests, and sovereign governing authority on Indian reservations. The original dispute was over access to fishing on the Big Horn River within the exterior boundaries of the Crow Reservation, Montana.

This is a good article and you should consider nominating it for a GA review. However, it still stumbles over its use of legal terms. I will try to do a bit of editing. Thanks, Racepacket (talk) 10:57, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • If the 9th Circuit sits in San Francisco, what does "went to D.C. to 'argue their case.'" mean?
  • Controvery section needs exansion. Was there an attempt to pass legislation to overturn the decision?
