Predecessor edit

The predecessor of the vehicle instead of Lancer WRC, is actually the Pajero Evolution MPR13. Racing Lancer is the vehicle vehicle built to race in the dakar rally, technically it has nothing from Lancer except the name. Engine comes from the previous MPR13 rally vehicle, body and technical structure is new but very similar to the predecessor and again totally different to Lancers.

My own guess is that the name, and because of the name also the style of the vehicle had to be changed changed, because the rally was kept in the south america for the first time. A name "pajero" is not very attractive in countries where most common speaken language is spanish. therefor the vehicle had to be renamed...--84.251.80.181 (talk) 23:38, 17 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
