I've removed the comment about the person being born with a particular name. Nobody is born with a name - they are given it. Misbah is the name she was given, so noo need to say she was born with that name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.77.243.184 (talkcontribs) 21:01, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have just reverted the page to a previous version. The girl's preferred name is used again and the allegations about the father are described approrpriately. Please don't keep reverting this page without a signature. It makes you look like you have an axe to grind and you don't want to be identified.--Jamesfmun 13:33, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have deleted some of the girl's quotes as well as the heavy religious sentiments. This is an article on a child abduction/custody case and it should be neutral without leaning towards either Misbah's viewpoints or Islamic viewpoints. All we need to know is that Misbah wanted to remain with her father, we don't need exact quotes, especially since she's twelve years old and her views will not have that much bearing on what's happening.--cosmic_quest 05:13, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree. I have trimmed some of the comments that are not relevant. What does a 12 year old girl's desire 'to remain muslim forever' have to do with the abduction? --JulesVerne 10:40, 29 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

This entire section seems to have all the characteristics of a rant, with no supporting evidence of any kind. Unless someone can provide some evidence for the supposed 'institutional islamophobia', the section should stay here.
==Criticism of Extensive Media Coverage==
The media's focus on the Molly Campbell incident has been criticised as over the top coverage, that indicated to many the eagerness of the British media to cover a story which at first appeared to be an abduction of a mixed-race girl by her Muslim father (who was initially suspected to be involved in her alleged abduction). This willingness to cover a so-called 'non-event' regarding nationally relevant news is suspected to be an indicator of the institutional islamophobia of many aspects of the British, and thus by extension, the Western media[dubious ] regarding cases that criminalise and (hence marginalise) Western Muslims.

The exact wording of this section may not be perfect, but many thought that the media's coverage of this case was open to criticism, so something should be said about it. PatGallacher (talk) 19:10, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fine - how about a reference to back it up then? I don't think we can publish something so controversial as to suggest that there is 'institutional islamophobia of many aspects of...the western media' without at least one reference as an absolute minimum. Otherwise it's like me writing a paragraph at the bottom saying that 'the entire islamic world hates western cultural values'. Is is just an opinion? Big statements require big verifiability - and that is the basis of Wikipedia, after all (verifiability, not necessarily truth). --JulesVerne 08:56, 07 January 2009 (GMT)
