Merger with Dan Patch Line article

The article Dan Patch Line should be merged into this one, or vice versa, as they cover the same railroad in different parts of its history. Also, there is an article on the Dan Patch Corridor which contains historical information better suited to a combined article on the Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester and Dubuque Electric Traction Company and the Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railway. I know of one reference to the MStPR&D already linking to the MNS Ry. page (that of the GE 57-ton gas-electric boxcab). A.w.stephens (talk) 05:30, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

I originally posted the Dan Patch Line history, and I am in agreement that the page should be merged with Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railway. Since the Dan Patch Line was officially known as Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railway, it would be better to merge with that page and create a redirect out of the Dan Patch Line page.

However, I have to disagree with the idea of merging the Dan Patch Corridor page into the Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railway page. While it runs on the same track it is a completely different transportation topic and a relevant topic for its own page.

That sounds good to me, though the Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester and Dubuque only became the MN&S after a bankruptcy, receivership and reorganization, and that would need to be noted as part of the merged page. They were broadly known as the Dan Patch Line both before and after reorganization, though that name fell from prominence in later years as Col. Savage's role was forgotten.

I'll defer to you on this, and would prefer you do the editing as you appear to have more Wikipedia experience. At least, a condensed passenger history from the Dan Patch Line or Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railway page should be also available as a subheading on the Dan Patch Corridor page.

MN&S Spur and Dan Patch Line Bridge

Articles keep appearing on different aspects of the MN&S, past and present. Would it be wise to roll the MN&S Spur and Dan Patch Line Bridge articles into the main MN&S article under a subsection for each?
