Forgive me for I would normally log in and edit the page myself but I'm on my phone. The link for nipsey is wrong on the page. Thanks!

What Millersville is Known for

I removed the following form the lede, because it was tagged for citation needed over a month ago, and the claims are too tenuous to be kept in, methinks.

"The school is probably best known for its programs offered in education and the natural/physical sciences.[citation needed] Most notably, Millersville is recognized as having one of the top undergraduate Meteorology programs on the east coast of the United States."[citation needed]

Although I personally don't disagree with the claims, we have to make sure they are Verifiable.--Lhakthong (talk) 01:27, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Millersville.gif

Image:Millersville.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

U

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

School of Humanities and Social Sciences: Degrees

Thanks to two IPs from Lancaster, we now have descriptions of 4 degrees from one school, going so far as to list the individual classes in some cases.

I have no idea why we have such detailed information on one school. Class lists are well below the threshold for inclusion here, IMO.

As the material is unsourced, we have no way of knowing if the information is accurate, let alone neutral.

Long story short, this is supposed to be an encyclopedia article about MUP, not a brochure for it. We generally do not include details such as class lists, the schools' descriptions of their various degrees, etc.

While it's a bit hard to nail down what should and should not be included, we generally include two types of information. First is general information that would be of interest to identify the university: when it was founded, location, number of students, etc.

The second general category would be material discussed in independent reliable sources: major events in the university's history, significant partnerships, etc.

Information that doesn't fall into either of these categories does not belong in Wikipedia. Information that does fit into these categories might. - SummerPhD (talk) 14:31, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
