Cause of derailment

Latest comment: 9 months ago1 comment1 person in discussion

Previous statement was "The derailment was caused by the movement of rails on the trestle, as they were compressed by the moving train". The first part is accurate, but the compression was caused by heat, resulting in wheels dropping between the rails. This is clear in the linked ICC report.
