I can't think of anything more this article needs, except maybe a PAS stained biopsy. I've put an H&E stain pic up -- Samir धर्म 05:43, 28 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
- What about some information on prevalence? If prevalence among the general population is too difficult, try prevalence among patients having a colonoscopy. How long does the condition last? What volume of laxative must be taken and over what duration for the codition to appear? If this article included three or four sentences on these matters, it should be in a good position for renomination as a good article. Cedars 02:57, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
- None of the above (except maybe an estimate of prevalence, I will check) is really known in the literature. Sorry. There's more here on wikipedia than in any textbook of gastroenterology on melanosis -- Samir धर्म 09:00, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I have added a little bit to the article to say that melanosis coli is actually a misnomer. Given that it does not involve melanin, should the "see also" to melanin also be removed?
- You might find some ideas for expansion at WP:MEDMOS#Sections. It has a list of all the things that are common in an article like this. WhatamIdoing (talk) 05:06, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
- I added some qualifications. Apparently there are other causes for the condition than laxatives. Pkeets (talk) 04:40, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
