Third child

Can anyone cite the source which talks about Hayden's third child? I could not find it anywhere.

bias

nothing on Haydens sledging in here ? Hes know as one of the worlds best sledgers (if you can be good at such a thing) worth a mention ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.168.3.18 (talk) 11:41, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

The chickens come home to roost with his recent comments on Harbajan maybe we will get a bit of balance in this article now. Haydnes reputation for sledging is well known yet nothing is mentioned in the article.

Test Century conversion rate

I refer to the following statement in this article: "Of note, at the commencement of 2006 he had the fourth highest conversion rate (Test centuries scored per Test played) in history, behind only Don Bradman and George Headley."

If Hayden has the fourth highest conversion rate then a name is missing from the last part of the sentence. Anyone have any ideas who the missing batsman might be? --Perry Middlemiss (talk)

The missing batsman is Clyde Walcott --HarryHall86 (talk)

Retirement

I think not mentioning it in the lead prior to the press conference is a good idea - but following an anon edit, I've re-worded and left the info in a 'retirement' section - just reporting, and referencing the sydney morning herald. thoughts most welcome Privatemusings (talk) 01:05, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

I see the section has matured a bit - my feeling is a) that it should be above 'controversies' (which I don't really like at all) and b) it currently reads a bit too negatively - I'll suggest a re-draft in due course... Privatemusings (talk) 23:49, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Karate Australia

I had read in Sportstar magazine that Hayden practises Shito-Ryu school of karate and participates at National level tournaments too. I particularly remember this well, because I practice shito-ryu and I am a fan of Hayden. I find no references to it this article and I am not able to locate the original or any relevant resources also. Does anyone know about this and can you provide any references?

have you confused it with Langer, his battign partner? Langer has a black belt in karate. Langer also did a (charity?) boxing match against Vic Darchinyan IIRC. YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 00:00, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
Justin Langer seems to be proponent of zen do kai, thats interesting information. Thanks! Are you sure, Hayden is no way associated with martial arts? I think I was ill-informed then. Thanks for clarifying. Phoe6 (talk) 03:31, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Hayden's standing as an opener - all-time

There is a bit of a minor edit spat going on regarding Matthew Hayden's standing as an opening batsman when considered against the All-Time Test greats. The statement that is being reverted is as follows: "From an individual standpoint, Hayden is arguably one of the finest Opening Batsman to have ever played the game." This may well be true, but as is stated in the sentence it is "arguable" and is taken "from an individual standpoint". In other words this statement is one person's opinion, and not fact.

Now, if the anonymous person who is adding this sentence wishes to supply a reference to a reputable source which states this opinion and backs it with argument and stats then we can add it in with a slight change in wording. Until such time the wording will be deleted.--Perry Middlemiss (talk) 05:49, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
