Israel/Palestine activism edit

I plan to revert back and reinsert the section on Palestine. The comment about Twitter sources misapplies the policy. Twitter is not being used as a source for claims- the sources for claims there are all from mainstream mass media. The link to Twitter is a link to the subject’s own feed to provide the factual basis for the statement that she is an activist in the Palestine issue. This issue has been the overwhelming focus of her activism for over three months now and is relevant to the topic of her activism. If we can’t link to the social media profiles of public figures whose activity is almost solely on social media..we have a major problem. I’m happy to expand the subject of her Palestine activism if it is considered overly critical/focussed on one claim. It would be absurd if I needed to rely on secondary mass media sources reporting on her activism when we can link directly to her words. DpcJupiter (talk) 22:14, 16 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for notifying me about this before taking action. Firstly, you are unfortunately unable to edit in the area of the Arab-Israeli conflict. See WP:Contentious_topics/Arab–Israeli_conflict. Irrespective of that, as I said, Twitter cannot be used unless "the material is neither unduly self-serving nor an exceptional claim and it does not involve claims about third parties and it does not involve claims about events not directly related to the source". If you disagree perhaps you could ask about this at the Reliable source noticeboard. It would be good to include her views on Palestine and Israel but we need a better source. Also we can't juxtapose Mary's views with content that does not mention her or her views since that is synthesis. Burrobert (talk) 02:03, 17 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
