Three Credible Sources to Create a Better Wikipedia Article on the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002 edit

I recommend adding the "Effectiveness of the Maritime Transportation Security Act: Hearing before the Committee on House Transportation and Infrastructure and the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation," because it is a congressional testimony of the effectiveness of the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002. It is a hearing on September 11, 2012, discussing whether the MTSA has been effective the past decade. For example, the testimony explains that federal attention at ports used to focus on safety and navigation; however, for the past decade it has been focusing more on security. I feel as if this Wikipedia article is lacking information about the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002, concerning its relation to today. This article gives very recent, credible information about the MTSA a decade after the act was established.

I recommend adding "Rep. Frank A. Lobiondo Holds a Hearing on Maritime Transportation Security Act Review," because is it a committee hearing, concerning a review of the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002. This source discusses whether the Transportation Security Act of 2002 has been effective the past decade; in addition, it also discusses September 11, 2001 and the attacks on that day. I feel as if this Wikipedia article is lacking information about the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002, concerning its relation to today. For example, Lobiondo states that the MTSA was a landmark piece of legislation that was established to improve the security of the nations ports, among other things. This article gives very recent, credible information about the MTSA a decade after the act was established.

I recommend adding "Port and Maritime Security Act Implementation," because it is a congressional testimony based on Port and Maritime Security Act implementation. This sources discusses why September 11, 2001 has shown the US that security needs to be heightened. It even states that 90% of the article, itself, is about the September 11 attack (among other things). I feel as if this Wikipedia article is lacking information about the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002, concerning its relation to September 11, 2001. Flynn deems that although Americans may feel safe now, he would argue that we are at a greater risk because of the example of the catastrophic terrorists acts of September 11, 2001. This article gives very recent, credible information about how the September 11th attacks played a very large role in the creation of the MTSA.
