Retired fleet?

Can you tell me the retirement fleet with reasons, including reasons for replacement and when they introduced and retired?

Clarify that Marin Transit never operated it own bus lines but contracted with Golden Gate Transit and others.

As I understand it, The Marin Transit District has never operated it's own bus lines. Prior to 2007, Golden Gate Transit (GGT) was contracted to operate all Marin Transit routes under GGT branding. Since 2007, it contracts with GGT and others to operate local bus lines (2 digit bus lines) under the Marin Transit branding while GGT branded lines only serve inter-county bus routes between Marin and SF, Santa Rosa and SF, and El Cerrito/Richmond and Marin/San Rafael (All the three digit bus lines). This should be made clearer in the article, if indeed I understand the history of Marin Transit and GGT relationship correctly. The article seems to suggest this but isn't clear enough on that point. Hi all - wanted to explain some of the heavy revisions made to the page as of this month.
Contracted operations - In 2007, not only did the branding on the route change, but so did the actual structure of the Marin County Transit District. The District is a small staff of about 20 that handles the operations oversight, scheduling, capital investments, financial solvency, program planning, partnership, funding, and more, for all Marin Transit services. Marin Transit has a contract with both Golden Gate Transit and Marin Airporter to operate services, but services are strictly separate. Golden Gate Transit runs their own routes (regional services in and out of San Francisco and the East Bay).
Golden Gate and Marin Transit do not have a strict separation based on route digits - for example, the route 257 is a three-digit Marin Transit route. While Marin Transit does rely on Golden Gate Transit to operate some of their fixed route services, Marin Transit is still in complete control of the vehicles used, the scheduling, the bus stop locations, and every other aspect of the service itself - Golden Gate has no influence on that service. In a similar sense, Marin Transit has no influence on the route 101, the 150, or any other Golden Gate Transit route.
Marin Transit currently relies on four operators, outlined on their Careers page - Golden Gate Transit operates some local service (about 40%, looking at their past fiscal year report), Marin Airporter operates some of their local service (the remaining 60%) and all of their stagecoach service, Transdev operates their Marin Access services, Bauer's IT operates the Muir Woods Shuttle and the Yellow Bus service, and North Bay Taxi is one of the Catch-a-Ride service partners.
Fleet updates - Marin Transit board of directors recently approved a fleet replacement plan that outlines their plan to shift to a fully zero emission fleet. Part of the board packet that went with this approval outlined their current fleet, which the updates were pulled from.
Several vehicles previously on the list had been decommissioned between the original list and today. The most current list was included in a recent request for proposals (Attachment A, Fleet Information) and backed up by their recent fleet replacement plan.
Demand Response and other services - All Dial-a-Ride services have been cancelled and their individual web pages scrapped. The Catch-a-Ride program was launched in 2023.
Operations - Several fixed-routes have been changed, shortened, or adjusted in some way with the major service change the District took on un 2023 (for example, the route 23X has not run in over two years but was still showing on their Wiki page). The Muir Shuttle was removed from fixed route service and now operates a seasonal service through the NPS. The fixed route schedule now shows the most up to date information as per the website and published riders guide.
Fare updates - The paratransit fare table was taken directly from the appropriate regional paratransit page.
